Consolidating the 'Community Help' initiatives

What are Hubs?

We are a collective of 16 individuals living with various disabilities, including physical, mental, and invisible illnesses. Formed in 2006, our group initially came together due to shared communication challenges. Our focus has been on establishing and executing volunteer projects that deliver tangible benefits to communities, individuals, and animals. These projects now constitute our "Hubs." While some initiatives experienced delays during lockdowns, they are slated for resumption when feasible.

The term "Hubs" designates our current portfolio of projects and initiatives. Our objective is to consolidate all community projects onto this centralised website. However, some initiatives may temporarily retain separate web presences during this integration phase.

Operating as an Unincorporated Association, our financial philosophy prioritises
direct project funding. Since our inception in 2006, we have exercised our right to claim expenses, opting instead to channel maximum funding towards project objectives. Operational costs are limited to essential services such as payment processing, banking fees, and statutory taxes.

The catalyst for our group's formation was Chris, known to us as 'Grumpy' (referencing 'by G.'). During a shared therapy session, he proposed that participation in volunteer work would enhance social integration and contribute positively to our collective mental and physical well-being.
