Misson Statement - Improving the Future by Helping the Present
All Against Poverty: Extending a Helping Hand
Born in October 2019 as 'hEat' (Heat or Eat), our initial focus was clear: to combat financial hardship among the elderly and vulnerable in the UK, ensuring they could afford food and warmth, especially through winter.
Then came the pandemic. Witnessing widespread job losses and global lockdown, our hearts compelled us to do more. Our mission expanded. We began delivering vital care packages across borders, reaching anyone struggling, anywhere. What began as 'Heat or Eat' transformed into 'All Against Poverty'—a worldwide initiative dedicated to alleviating diverse forms of poverty for individuals from all walks of life. While 'Heat or Eat' remains our most requested form of assistance and a core part of our identity, it now serves as a key pillar within our broader mission.
Discover the various areas of poverty we address by navigating the menu above.
Your Support Stays Local: Every contribution you make directly benefits people in your own country, identified by your chosen currency or billing address. Although we may provide examples local to us in the UK, ALL areas will be supported in your country if we have the contributions from your country or economic area.
Become a Champion: We are actively seeking dedicated promoters to help us raise funds for the entire All Against Poverty project, and also for specific areas where need is greatest.
Our Commitment to Help: Help is provided based purely on demonstrated need, as assessed through the applications we receive. We work diligently through the list and will reach out to you once your application has been evaluated and funds are available.
It's not a handout; it's a helping hand. We live by the belief: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
Behind the Initiative: We are a group of friends with personal experiences of disability, including challenges with verbal communication as we can not physically talk and dyslexia, which can sometimes affect our confidence. Yet, since 2006, when we started as a community group, we have voluntarily committed ourselves to projects that promote healing and help integrate individuals into society. We do this purely to serve, without any personal benefits.
Currently operating as an Unincorporated Association, we navigate limitations but remain passionate. We do not draw a salary or claim any expenses, not even for a meal.
Thank You Giveaways (Monthly): To express our sincere gratitude for your invaluable support, we host monthly giveaways. These are funded by us or a sponsor for the month. Full details are available on our "Things to Know" page.
